Mutoh Smart Card Chip Disable (Please read the following instrcution carefully)
Power ON Falcon II or Falcon II Outdoor
- Press Menu up when 1st line in display appears
- Press F1 when 2nd line in display appears
- Press menu down when 3rd line in display appears
- ALL three buttons are now pressed: ( menu up, F1 and menu down)
- If the printer continues to INITIALIZE then you have not pressed the buttons at the right time.
- Once a menu appears asking for a ' code':
- Enter code 0393 - use F keys to maneuver through menus
- Press Enter then choose CORRECT Ink type and configuration for the INK SET to be used.
- Press Enter
To confirm that 'smart chips' are disabled; Read the INK Status in User
mode and note a volume of ink in a cartridge other than 100.
Pull out the cartridge and notice that it report 0000. Replace the
cartridge and if it still reports the previous number then the 'chips' are
still disabled. The number should go back to 100 when the cartridge is
pulled and replaced.
For this reason ALWAYS remind the customer to NEVER remove the cartridge from the print WHILE IT IS ON. This way the 'counter' will stay correct.
If an INK volume reports a low number and the customer wants to find out how
much might be left in the cartridge. Turn off the printer and check the
small TAB on the side of the cartridge. Replace the cartridge BEFORE powering ON the printer.
Solution for Mutoh RockHopper and Mutoh Falcon OutDoor Junior
You just need to remove the sticker from old cartridge and put it on the LavaInk720 cartridges and then it's ok.
